岐阜で精肉業を営む「横山精肉店」初の単独店と、イートイン店舗を手掛けることになった。横山精肉店は岐阜で46年以上営業されており、ミーティングをくり返すたびにオーナーの横山さんより精肉に対する熱い思いを伺い、店舗自体も精肉の付加価値を上げる役割をしっかりと担いつつ、精肉店の顔であるショーケースのイメージを消さないようにデザインを考えた。
通常の精肉店のようなデザインではなく、洋菓子店のようなイメージも入れたいということから、海外のブッチャーを意識してインダストリアルデザインと柔らかな木のバランスにより横山精肉店さんらしい店が完成した。（中川健司）

The butcher shop “YOKOYAMA Seiniku Ten” in Gifu prefecture, located in Central Japan, opened their 1st independent store with eat-in space. The brand has 46 years of history in Gifu. Every time we had a meeting with the owner, Mr. Yokoyama, we listened to his aspiration for a meat-packing. We tried to create a store which can upgrade their brand value, keeping an image of showcases of a butcher.
The owner also requested a taste of European pastry shop. Therefore we added balanced industrial design and a soft woody taste, paying attention to overseas butcher. As a result, the original and unique store has been born. (Kenji Nakagawa)
