2006年に『ミニマム』『ポップ』『アーティスティック』というデザインキーワードで、渋谷らしいホテルデザインでオープンした「渋谷グランベルホテル本館」。今回は、次の更なるステージに向かい、客室リノベーションによって新しく生まれ変わった。 リノベーションテーマは、まだ誰も見たことのない〈Next Shibuya〉。渋谷からまた新しいホテルデザインカルチャーを発信したいという思いから、アートと機能の融合をテーマにプロダクト製作活動をしている「デザインスタジオYOY（ヨイ）」とコラボレーションして空間づくりを行い、プロダクトアートとホテル機能が融合された全く新しい空間をつくることを試みた。 世界から訪れるゲストに、日本独特の感性によって作られた完成度の高いプロダクトアートを見て・触れる体験を提供する、そんな新しいホテル空間が渋谷に完成した。（寶田 陵／UDS）

“SHIBUYA GRANBELL HOTEL” was born in 2006 with the design keywords “MINIMUM”, “POP”, “ARTISTIC”. This time the hotel was reborn through the guest room renovation, toward the next stage. The theme of renovation is “Next Shibuya” which is never-seen-before. We wanted to transmit a new hotel design culture from Shibuya and tried to create a brand new space where product-art and hotel-function are blended. Therefore we collaborated with “design studio YOY” who creates products under the theme of blending art and function. The new hotel space was accomplished in Shibuya where guests from all over the world can watch and touch high-quality finished product-art made by Japanese unique sense.
