東京駅お土産ランキングで4年連続1位に輝いているメープルバタークッキーを販売している「the MAPLE MANIA」から新しく生まれた、イメージキャラクター“メープル坊や” 行きつけの店がテーマの「MAPLE DINER by the MAPLE MANIA」。店舗は新宿西口と南口をつなぐ新宿ミロードモザイク通りの通路面にある屋外区画に位置します。列車が下層階を通り1日中人の行き来が絶えないロケーションにあり、その細長い区画を活かすべく、かつて車食堂車両が再利用されていた時代、古き良き時代のアメリカンダイナーをベースに、当時のダイナーのバーカウンターをイメージして、接客・商品陳列カウンターをデザインしました。連絡通路を往来する通行人からは厨房内での製作工程が見え、商品であるワッフルやメープルの甘い匂いが通る人を誘惑し、購買へと繋がる様に意図したデザイン・レイアウトしています。（室谷丞一郎／ZYCC）

We designed “the MAPLE DINER by the MAPLE MANIA”, the favorite store of mascot Maple Boy. “the MAPLE DINER” is a second brand branching off of the MAPLE MANIA, a store selling the “Maple Butter Cookie,” which has ranked as the No. 1 Tokyo Station souvenir for four years running. The store is located in the outdoor section of the passageway in Shinjuku Mylord Mosaic Street connecting the west and south exits of Shinjuku Station in an area where foot traffic never dies down and trains run underground. We designed the store as a bar counter in an old diner with product display and customer service functions, based on the concept of the good-old American diner from the era of reused dining carriages, to take advantage of the long and skinny space. We designed it so that people traversing the passageway can see the creation process in the kitchen and smell the sweet aroma of their waffle and maple products, naturally creating sales opportunities. “MAPLE DINER by the MAPLE MANIA”是由连续4年获得东京站特产排行榜第1名，主营枫糖黄油饼干的“the MAPLE MANIA”，全新衍生而来的新品牌。店铺想要呈现出的主题印象是“枫糖坊”，日常爱用店。店铺位于连接新宿站西口与南口的“新宿MYLORD的MOSAIC街道”临街的室外区域。因来往列车通往下层街道，所以此处处于整日人流不息的地理位置。尽可能发挥狭长区域的优势，联想到过去车辆再利用的汽车食堂时代，以古老美丽的美国餐厅为基础，以当时的餐厅吧台为原型，设计了接待客人、商品陈列的柜台。穿行于来往通道的人们，可以看见厨房内的制作情况，以及华夫饼，枫糖浆的阵阵飘香，诱惑着人们的味蕾，以激起购买欲为意图设计而成的。（室谷丞一郎／ZYCC）
